Here To Help You Through All Aspects Of Divorce

Making the decision to divorce can be extremely difficult and emotional. However, divorce is not the end. It is the first step toward a new beginning. If you are considering filing for divorce, have already filed, or your spouse has filed, contact Law Office of Laura W. Fidelie, PLLC. I am here to guide you through this challenging time.

Having handled divorce cases since 2007, I understand the Texas laws that apply to these cases. I work closely with each and every one of my clients to help them understand how the laws affect their divorce case and what this means for their options. You can rely on my Wichita Falls firm, Law Office of Laura W. Fidelie, PLLC, to have your best interests in mind as I help you move forward.

Types Of Divorce-Related Issues

There are many issues that stem from a divorce that must be addressed and resolved in the process of reaching an end to the divorce case. I provide clients with personalized representation in all types of matters, including:

  • High-asset divorce: When a divorce involves high-dollar assets, it can be a complicated case. Many high-asset divorces involve lucrative closely held businesses, foreign accounts, large investment portfolios, vacation homes and more.
  • Property division: Texas is a community property state, which means that most assets and property obtained during the course of the marriage is considered jointly owned and is most often split equally between the parties in the divorce. There are exceptions to this rule, and, as always, any separate property is retained throughout the marriage and afterward.
  • Spousal maintenance (alimony or spousal support): The amount of money paid to one spouse by the other in order to support their lifestyle during the divorce and once the divorce has been finalized is called spousal maintenance. Not all cases are appropriate for seeking spousal maintenance, though I can advise you if this is an option in your situation.
  • Children’s issues: When a divorce involves children, it is important that the best interests of the children be central to the resolution of these issues. I strive to help my clients reach a resolution to child custody and visitation agreements as well as child support payments that provide for the children and ensure their well-being.
